I solved this as a C. It turns out, it is a B.

Edit: Correction, it is a B plus a couple of classic remote pair eliminations.

Definitely not, it was like AA, a 12-stepper. I used remote pairs, various forms of coloring, two X- and one XYZ-Wing and finished if off with a W-Wing followed by pincer transport on same.

so is brainbashers gearing up for another category?? how many do they have? Laughing
kind of wonder why the brainbasher site hasn't already included some "extreme" puzzles.

which raises this question... one that is rhetorical of course because this curiosity in sudoku has been taken advantage of by the mainstream papers and websites.

When does sudoku stop becoming a puzzle and start becoming a curiosity?

or if you want to get down to the bottom of it... when does sudoku stop bringing interest in your product? a.k.a. sales, advertisements, readers
MONEY!

is there a cut off? as in a difficulty at which point the average solver says, "ah forget this, I am not wasting my time anymore?".

I'd say yes !!
