This one can be solved with 3 W-wings.
I only found 2 and used an xy-wing to finish. Happy hunting!

I couldn't solve it with W-Wings only. Started off with a Hidden UR, W-Wing, Coloring, two ERs and a W-Wing. Then a pincer transport on that last W-Wing finished it off.

I used the hidden UR also but found it didn't do much good. It was fun to find! Good spotting.

The type 3(?) UR (12) necessitates that C2C8 is <1>.
That opened the puzzle for me.

Earl, I assume you mean r2c8. What is the reasoning?

I did find a w-wing that solved it with a few extensions and after the skyscraper on 3
Code:
.------------------.------------------.------------------.
| 3     6     2    | 7     5     1    | 49    49    8    |
| 5    W18    4    |W38    2     9    | 6     13    7    |
| 9     7     18   | 4     368   368  | 5     123   12   |
:------------------+------------------+------------------:
| 7    A13    6    | 238   1348  2348 | 28    5     9    |
| 2     4     9    | 5     68    7    | 1     68    3    |
| 8     5    #13   | 9     136  2-36  | 7     26    4    |
:------------------+------------------+------------------:
| 1    W2389 W38   |2-38   348   5    | 2489  7     6    |
| 6    W28    7    | 1     9     248  | 3     248   5    |
| 4    W2389  5    | 6     7     238  | 289   1289  12   |
'------------------'------------------'------------------'

this grid is after the 3 skyscraper.
the w-wing on {3,8} is marked with the grouped strong link.
now with some extensions from the 3 in r7c3 the puzzle cracks.
first the 3 in r7c4 is toast...

then we extend the 3 from r7c3 to cell A and the 3 in r4c4 is toast.
reduced to singles.

(3=8)r2c4 - (8)r2c2 = (8)r789c2 - (8=3)r7c3; r7c4 <> 3
(3=8)r2c4 - (8)r2c2 = (8)r789c2 - (8=3)r7c3 - (3)r6c3 = (3)r4c2; r4c4 <> 3
