1419 had two ERs and a Type 4 UR which I don't remember if it was needed.

#1421 isn't so obvious
but this is probably the most direct route.
after basics

Code:
.---------------------.---------------------.---------------------.
| 2      38     9     | 5      7      6     | 38     1      4     |
| 1358   13568  356   | 2389   29     4     | 238    7      256   |
| 4      3568   7     | 238    1      23    | 9      36     256   |
:---------------------+---------------------+---------------------:
| 38     9      4     | 23     6      123   | 7      5      138   |
| 358    358    2     | 7      4      139   | 6      89     1389  |
| 6      7      1     | 39     8      5     | 4      2      39    |
:---------------------+---------------------+---------------------:
| 17     12     8     | 6      3      279   | 5      4      29    |
| 357    2356   356   | 4      259    279   | 1      89     2689  |
| 9      4      56    | 1      25     8     | 23     36     7     |
'---------------------'---------------------'---------------------'

skyscraper 9
gets it to here.
Code:
.---------------------.---------------------.---------------------.
| 2     *38     9     | 5      7      6     |*38     1      4     |
| 1358   13568 *356   | 238    9      4     | 238    7      256   |
| 4      3568   7     | 238    1      23    | 9      36     256   |
:---------------------+---------------------+---------------------:
| 38     9      4     | 23     6      123   | 7      5      18    |
| 358    358    2     | 7      4      13    | 6      89     189   |
| 6      7      1     | 9      8      5     | 4      2      3     |
:---------------------+---------------------+---------------------:
| 17     12     8     | 6      3      79    | 5      4      29    |
| 357    2356 *35-6   | 4      25     79    | 1      89     2689  |
| 9      4     *56    | 1     *25     8     |*23     36     7     |
'---------------------'---------------------'---------------------'

(6=5)r9c3 - (5=2)r9c5 - (2=3)r9c7 - (3)r1c7 = (3)r1c2 - (3)r2c3 = (3)r8c3; r8c3 <> 6

leads to a xy-wing {2,5,6} pivot cell r8c2, removes 5 from r9c5 and r8c13

On 1421 I used a Hidden UR (23), ER (9)and a DP 18-13-38. On the first pass, one of the DP killers was invalid and that then left just one candidate to kill it which finished it off.
