This one can be solved with a swordfish as the only complication.

This one needs a single finned swordfish, for one-stepping it.

The second posted puzzle involves a finned swordfish on Quote: | 3 in r458c348 and fin in r7c4 |
which solves the puzzle.

This one can be solved with one sashimi-swordfish.

For puzzle #3, I believe that the sashimi swordfish is in Quote: | r359c249 with the sashimi fin in either r5c2 or r6c9. Either result in the same overall deductions to complete the puzzle. |

In this case yes but it is not always so.
I see no reason to prefer one as the fin to the other so I take them both at once.
A skyscraper is a sashimi x-wing and we use it both ways, as do I with sashimi-swords. |

This is another. Whether it is sashimi or finned is not clear to me.
In my own mind it is a finned-sashimi.
There are in fact two, hard to spot, big fish on 9s, either of which makes this a one step.

I found a sashimi Jellyfish in Quote: | r1457c169 plus either r1c5 or r5c4.
If the jelly is really in r1c5 then the sashimi fin is in r5c4 but no deletions are available in box5.
If the jelly really is in r5c4 then sashime the fin is in r1c5 and <9> is deleted from r23c4.
|
I did not look for a second sashimi.

There is also vertical sword in c358. The pseudo sashimi cells are r3c3 and r1c5.
It is most useful to consider it a finned sword and the fin is r1c5 as you get all the eliminations.

Wapati, I noticed the fin x-wing in r28c58 earlier. I believe that it provides the same deletions as you noted.

The finned-x makes 2 of the 3 eliminations but the third (r3c4) is needed to make it a one-stepper. |
