After basics:
Code: | +-------------------+-------------------+-------------------+
| 489 7 5 | 1 6 2 | 48 489 3 |
| 489 3 6 | 459 7 49 | 2458 1 2489 |
| 2 49 1 | 459 3 8 | 45 7 6 |
+-------------------+-------------------+-------------------+
| 3 189 2 | 7 145 149 | 6 4589 1489 |
| 5 6 4 | 89 12 3 | 12 89 7 |
| 19 189 7 | 489 1245 6 | 3 4589 12489 |
+-------------------+-------------------+-------------------+
| 14 2 8 | 3 14 7 | 9 6 5 |
| 6 5 9 | 2 8 14 | 7 3 14 |
| 7 14 3 | 6 9 5 | 148 2 148 |
+-------------------+-------------------+-------------------+ | There is an extended XY-wing 49-14-14-14-19 that takes out <9> in R2C1.
Then, there is a W-wing 4-9 that eliminates <9> in R3C4. The W-wing strong links are <14> in B78.
Nice one!

Hidden Rectangle: 4/5 in r2c47,r3c47 => r3c7<>4,r2c4<>4
ss solves to the end using:

You can finish it with Keith's extended xy-wing if you extend it so as to remove the 9 from R6C2.

Earl | Earl, I also started with the xy-wing 14-9. I then transported the 9 in r6c1 to r1c8 via r1c1 to delete the 9 in r2c9 and complete the puzzle.
In looking back, I could not see how to extend the xy-wing to delete the 9 in r6c2. Please help.

It can be easily extended to take out the 9 from r3c4 which finishes it off. |

Thanks Marty. It is the most obvious that bites you in the butt.
