Another fun puzzle
By just taking what appeared, I used five steps to complete the puzzle. Quote: | type 1 UR46 sets r2c9=2,
looking for a xy-wing I found an AIC: (4=2)r8c3 - (2=8)r1c3 - (8)r1c8 = (8)r3c8 - (8=24)r3c12 - (2=7)r3c5 - (7=8)r6c5 - (8=4)r6c2; r5c3, r8c2<>4
xyz-wing 235 in r4c6
useless w-wing 25 in r5c3 & r8c4 with strong link 2 in r1c34 plus pincer transport,
BUG+2 requires r1c4=9 or r3c4=2, thus (8=9)r1c8 - BUG[(9)r1c4 = (2)r3c4] - (2=4)r3c1 - (4=8)r3c2; r1c3, r3c8<>8.

For fun a one step Code: | *-----------------------------------------------------------*
| 1 6 a248 | 2459 3 2459 | 7 *8-9 24 |
| 5 9 7 | 8 1 24 | 3 46 246 |
| 24 248 3 |f2479 27 6 | 1 *9-8 5 |
|-------------------+-------------------+-------------------|
| 23 7 b258 | 1 c258 235 | 9 46 46 |
| 9 1 245 | 245 6 245 | 8 3 7 |
| 34 48 6 |e479 d78 349 | 5 2 1 |
|-------------------+-------------------+-------------------|
| 8 3 1 | 6 4 7 | 2 5 9 |
| 7 245 24 | 25 9 8 | 6 1 3 |
| 6 25 9 | 3 25 1 | 4 7 8 |
*-----------------------------------------------------------*
(8)r1c8=(8)r1c3-(8)r4c3=(8)r4c5-(8=7)r6c5-(7)r6c4=(7-9)r3c4=(9)r3c8
=> r3c8<>8, r1c8<>9;

I used a W-Wing on 24 and two different 25 URs.
Note to Ted: regarding the comment you made on the other puzzle about using a UR to establish pincers, that was done with both of the aforementioned URs. |
