step 2 is also a finned x-wing in row 3 and 9 on candidate 2.

I couldn't find anything other than a couple of ERs and the obvious X-Wing on 8. A Medusa wrap was my only way out.

Unfortunately, most of the puzzles in my current set of NR puzzles have at least one XYZ-Wing. Starting with my next post, I'll filter out puzzles with XYZ-Wings and/or grouped single-digit patterns. This should (hopefully) result in more reasonable puzzles.

Note: My next set of NR puzzles was generated w/o XYZ-Wings, and I'll filter out any puzzles that need a grouped single-digit pattern.

Regards, Danny

I used two xyz-wings 213, two x-wings 8, an er 2, and a w-wing 23
I could not get this one to break. Shocked

Danny,

I enjoyed this puzzle very much. It offered a variety of steps/solutions which I think is great; some VH moves and some more advanced moves. It would be boring if everyone had (essentially) the same solution.

My first step made the same deletion as Norm's first step, but he employed an ALS and I had a chain formed by extending a potential vertex:
(3=2)r1c9 - (2=8)r3c8 - (8)r5c8 = (8)r5c1 - (8=3)r4c2; r1c2<>3,

Next, I had two x-wings on 8: r35c18 & 4r9c29

Then a w-wing 23 in r1c9 & r4c7 which made three deletions plus a pincer transport made an addition key deletion

Then a UR 23 in r78c35 provides a pseudocell 18 in r78c3, which can be combined with the 138 in r2c3 to form a "Hidden Pair" or ALS condition. As an ALS: ALS[(1)r278c3 = (3)r2c3] - (3=1)r2c1; r1c3<>1 to complete the puzzle.

Ted Very Happy

I'm glad that everyone is finding their own solution!!!

I (usually) run a puzzle through my solver using techniques in various permutations. This gives me an idea if one or more steps are "necessary". It also gives me an idea if others will be able to find a distinct solution to call their own.

Whatever you mean, it is wonderful that some puzzles are hard.

Do we not, most, find different trails through the woods?

I rarely post my particular trail. I do enjoy it.
