I used a Type 3 UR on 45 with a pseudo cell and an XYZ on 459. |

Marty, I skipped right over your post, and I see you already said this. (BTW -- remember last weekend when we both solved a puzzle with basics only but then couldn't replicate it? Same thing happened with this one; I needed the xyz on the second try.) |

While looking for xy-wings, I found a xy-chain:
(9=4)r2c4 - (4=5)r5c4 - (5=2)r5c3 - (2=7)r5c6 - (7=4)r5c2 - (4=9)r6c2; r6c4<>9.
Looking at the chain, I realized that it started and ended with 49, which was really a w-wing with strong link on 4 in r26c5. So my long six cell chain could have been reduced to a four cell w-wing:
(9=4)r2c4 - (4)r2c5 = (4)r6c5 - (4=9)r6c2; r6c4<>9.
Always a surprise somewhere...........
