A fun puzzle...........
Quote: | xy-wing 4-79 with vertex in r6c5,
w-wing 14 in r6c3 & r9c1 and strong link on 1 in r2c13 plus a transport,
xy chain: (5=2)r3c7 - (2=7)r2c8 - r2c5 = r9c5 - (7=1)r9c2 - (1=5)r9c4; r9c7<>5.

Also a fun puzzle, but with five more steps than these heavyweights I'm competing against. |

In most cases, I believe that luck has the greatest hand in determining how many steps are used to complete a puzzle. Unless a deletion influences a later step, it is useless but counts as a step. When a person takes every move as they are found, I can only assume that some are useless. The positive side of the situation is that even the useless moves can be FUN!
keep stepping.........

That's true to a large extent, but don't downplay the tremendous strides you've made in your solving abilities. |

I don't know if any steps are extraneous, but there's only one VH+ step.
Code: | r69 X-Wing <> 9 r5c8,r7c58
<49+7> XY-Wing r6c5/r5c4+r9c5 <> 7 r89c4
r26 X-Wing <> 2 r35c8
c35\r26 finned X-Wing <> 4 r2c1
<12+4> XY-Wing r2c1/r1c2+r9c1 <> 4 r89c2
c26 X-Wing <> 4 r1c3
r26 X-Wing <> 4 r1c3
BUG+1 = 5 r9c8
