A VH+(?) one-stepper

Quote:
UR67 in r46c68. To prevent the deadly pattern, r6c6=3 or r6c68=9.
(3)r6c6 - (3=9)r5c6 - (9=7)r6c4,
(9)r6c68 - (9=7)r6c4

OK, so I tried again and found a two stepper that I think is a VH+.

Quote:
Type 4 UR67 r46c68 with x-wing on 6 overlay deletes 7 in r6c68, which opens up a
xy-wing 6-79 with vertex in r6c8 that deletes 7 in r4c6 & r6c9 to complete the puzzle.

Ted Question

Aaack! My messages overlapped yours. I deleted mine.

Nice find! I missed the fact that several steps from my solver could be skipped. I have to stop posting puzzles when I'm tired!!!

Regards, Danny

Will you accept this puzzle as a replacement?

Danny, I welcome all puzzles you post. I enjoyed the original puzzle you posted and also the alternate.

I completed the alternate in five moves.

Quote:
Flightless w-wing 29 in r1c6 & r7c9 with grouped strong link on 9 in r1689c7 plus two transports,
xy-wing 24-9 with vertex in r7c4
Type 3 UR59 in r23c59 provides a pseudocell 26 in r23c9 which combines with the 36 in r1c8 and the 236 in r3c8 to form a subset (236) thereby deleting the 6 in r1c7 (which is probably not useful),
flightless xy-wing 26-9 with vertex in r8c7 and pseudocell 69 in r6c37 plus transport: (9)r7c9 - r7c2 = r3c2; r23c3<>9,
another flightless xy-wing 2-69 with vertex in r7c9 and pseudocell 69 in r157c3 plus transport: (6)r1c2 - r4c2 = r6c1; r6c7<>6.

On the original, I used a Kite (2), XYZ (679) and Type 1 UR (67).

I tried on the alternate to double Ted's number of moves, but fell one short at nine, ending with a flightless XY-Wing on 492 with pincer transport.
