This was a little easier for me than the A puzzle, taking five steps.
Quote: | Type 1 UR (48)
XYZ (478)
W-Wing (47)
ER (8)
Flightless XY-Wing (498) with pincer transport |

Three steps.
ALS A 3478 in r678c7,
ALS B 78 in r9c9,
shared exclusive = 7,
shared common = 8,
ALSs did not directly provide a deletion, but a transport does;
(8)r9c9 - r9c1 = r2c1; r2c8<>8,
Type 1 UR 48 in r67c78 deletes 48 from r7c7, which sets up an
AIC: (3=1)r2c5 - (1=7)r2c7 - (7=3)r7c7 - r8c7 = r8c1; r2c1<>3.

Code: | c19r9 Skyscraper <> 8 r1c23,r2c7
<49+2> XY-Wing r1c3/r1c4+r3c1 <> 2 r1c2,r3c4
r67c78 <48> UR Type 1 <> 48 r7c7
r23c24 <46> UR Type 4 <> 4 r23c2
<47+8> XYZ-Wing r7c3/r7c8+r9c1 <> 8 r7c2

I don't recall which steps were necessary. |

I'm just now working through the backlog of DAJ puzzles after a (non-Sudoku-related) work crunch.
My solution to this one was a little different: xyz-wing 478 based in r8c3; then a vertical skyscaper on 8, then xy-wing 249. I spotted the UR 48 in boxes 6 and 9 but thought I'd see if I could do without it. Apparently it wasn't required. |
