Great puzzle with some interesting features I used three steps to complete the puzzle.
Quote: | 1. Type 6 UR17 r13c27 with x-wing 1 overlay; r1c2,r3c7<>1
Also, to prevent DP, r1c2=9 or r3c7=5
(9)r1c2 - (9=7)r2c1
(5)r3c7 - (5=7)r2c8
Thus, r2c6<>7
2A. ANP(79=8)r1c25 - (8=7)r3c4; r1c6<>7 and
2B. ANP(79=8)r1c25 - (8=7)r4c5 - (7=5)r5c4 - r5c8 = r2c8 - (5=9)r2c6; r1c6<>9
3. RP57: r3c7, r2c8, r5c8 & r5c4; r3c4<>7
At this point, only three digits remain: 5, 7 & 9
4. 6-cell RP79: r6c3, r7c3, r7c6, r8c5, r1c5, r1c2; r4c2<>79 |
I reviewed the puzzle after initially completing it and determined that the ANP() step was not needed, but posted it anyway since it could also be viewed as a xyz-wing but then only one deletion was provided.

I think I made a bit of dog's dinner of this one - there were two remote pairs that just wanted to come into life but never quite did... three steps
Quote: | xy-chain (with a pair) (7=5)r5c4-(5=7)r5c8-(7=5)r2c8-(5=17)r3c27; r3c4<>7
extended kite(9) (9)r1c2=r1c5-r2c6=r7c6 -r7c3=r6c3; r4c2<>9
xy-chain/ANP (17=9)r13c2-(9=7)r1c5-(7=9)r8c5-(9=7)r7c6-(7=9)r7c3-(9=7)r6c3; r4c2<>7 |
[Edit] Seems similar to Ted's but I didn't play the UR and perhaps that's why the RPs never happened! |
