My rating guideline is gone. It wasn't being used anyway.

Code:

Danny,

I enjoy all your puzzles, rated or not. Thanks for all the time and energy you commit to provide us these pleasures.

For this puzzle I used two steps.

Quote:
AXY-wing 1-67 vertex (17)r1c4, pincers (67)r1c2 & (16)r3c5 with fin (1)r1c2
If xy-wing is true: r1c56,r3c12<>6
If fin is true: (1)r1c2-r1c7=r3c7-(1=6)r3c5; r1c56,r3c12<>6

UR12[(5)r1c5=(7)r1c3]r12c35-r1c46=r3c6-(7=3)r8c6-(3=5)r6c6; r1c6<>5

Here's a pretty ugly one-stepper using an ANT to delete two digits..

Consider the ANT(168) r3c567
If the triple exists then it eliminates (16) from r3c12.
If r3c6=7 then it forces 6 in r3c5 and 1 in r2c3, again eliminating (16) from r3c12.

Something like...
Code:

ANT[(168)r3c567=(7)r3c6] - (7=1)r1c4 - (1=6)r3c5             ; r3c12<>6
                                     - (1=2)r2c5 - (2=1)r2c3 ; r3c12<>1

Sorry Peter but I do not see any 'ugly" in that move.

 | 8     9     12    | 3     12    4     | 5     7     6     |
 | 1367  1367  5     | 9     16    678   | 18    2     4     |
 |-------------------+-------------------+-------------------|
 | 37    5     8     | 2     37    9     | 6     4     1     |
 | 9     1367  1347  | 17    1456  3567  | 2     35    8     |
 | 136   2     134   | 8     1456  356   | 7     35    9     |
 |-------------------+-------------------+-------------------|
 | 2     4     6     | 5     9     1     | 3     8     7     |
 | 5     378   9     | 6     378   37    | 4     1     2     |
 | 137   1378  137   | 4     378   2     | 9     6     5     |
 *-----------------------------------------------------------*

hp(37)r3c12=(7)r3c6-(7=1)r1c4-(1=6)r3c5 =>r3c12<>6
