For me this focusses on the 68 in r5c7 shown by # (below). You don't have to know what value this cell will be to solve the puzzle. Not so much a fin as an outrider or outrigger if you want to stay nautical.
Code: | +----------------+----------------+----------------+
| 7 3 2 | 9 5 1 | 4 6 8 |
| 6 9 5 | 4 7 8 | 1 2 3 |
| 4 1 8 | 2 36 36 | 7 5 9 |
+----------------+----------------+----------------+
| 1 8 7 | 5 369 369 | 2369 4 26 |
| 9 5 3 | *67-8 4 2 | 68# *17-8 167 |
| 2 6 4 | 378 1 379 | 3589 378 57 |
+----------------+----------------+----------------+
| 3 7 9 | *16 268 4 | 2568 8-1 1256 |
| 8 4 6 | 17 23 5 | 23 9 17 |
| 5 2 1 | 367 3689 3679 | 368 378 4 |
+----------------+----------------+----------------+ |
If r5c7 is 8 then r5c48<>8 and a <167> XY Wing emerges (shown by *) with vertex at r5c4 and so r7c8<>1 and puzzle solved.
=otherwise=
If r5c7 not 8 (ie 6) then (8=6)r5c7-r45c9=r7c9-(6=1)r7c4; once again r7c8<>1 solves. |

I played it straight (no outriggers!)
x-wing(3)
type 2 UR(36) ; r4c7<>9
xy-wing(18-6) r7c8 |

I can't justify a solution like this one. However, I find it interesting (and productive) anyway.
Code: | (1 )r5c9 - r5c8 = r7c8 - (1=6)r7c4 - r5c4 = (6 )r4c56
|| || ||
( -6)r5c9 ( -6)r7c9 ( -6)r4c9 -> [c9]-6 => r5c9<>1

Well why ever not ? The productive/entertainment bit surely outweighs the Sudokuist's omerta.
Knocking out all the 6s in column 9, being good enough to record it, creating an absurdity (or invalidity) showing that the original hypothesis is bunk.....
Love it ! I'm sure you'll represent yourself in court.......... |
