I decided the rating was useful after all.

Telepathy!! I saw your posts with the ratings in the titles and thought it might work well to have the ratings as a white-out hint ... lo and behold they changed in front of my eyes!

I think this will work well!

So far, Ted has sent a private message saying that he enjoyed recent puzzles w/o the rating in the title. After reading his comments, I dropped the rating from the title and altered today's posts to their current format. It's nice to get a positive comment from Peter on the new format. Any additional comments/suggestions?

Regards, Danny

Three steps including one "almost".

Quote:
Type 1 UR (15)r78c59; r7c5<>15 which sets up the big step.

AXY-wing 57-8 vertex (57)r1c5, pincers (58)r2c4 & (78)r7c5 with fin (7)r2c4
If xy-wing is true: r3c5,r7c4<>8
If fin is true: (7)r2c4-r5c4=r5c5-(7=8)r7c5; r3c5,r7c4<>8

w-wing 35 r2c1 & r6c2 SL (5)r26c4; r45c1<>3

I don't post many solutions, but I do scope most of the daj puzzles. I like the ratings. I like to think a "b" is tougher than an "a" and so on. Salsa, BBDB, etc: nice distinctions, IMO.

Mainly, it's great that you continue to provide our daily fodder for fun, learning and discussion. What would Daily be without you??

Thanks Exclamation

Seconded!

For the record, my solution was same as Marty except I finished with a kite(5)

I think the whiting out of the grade is an excellent compromise. I tend just to dive in!
