or
Extended potential xy-wing vertex: (3=8)r8c5-r9c6=r9c8-(8=3)r4c8-r4c6=(3)r6c4*-r6c1=(3)r2c1**-r1c23=(3)r1c6; r7c4*,r2c5**,r3c5,r7c6<>3

Thanks. I'm always curious when there are alternate choices that use the same values.

Is it a Wing? Is it a chain ? Is it an ALS xz ?

All of the above with a not quite symmetrical feel to it.

Pincers/Wing-tips shown by *. Or two sets A&B with restricted candidate (x) = 8 and common (z) is= 5. Elimination of either 5 solves the puzzle.

Don't forget the infamous "Almost Remote Pair" going from r6c4 => r4c6 => r9c6 =>r8c5 with fin (9)r9c6-(9=35)r17c6-(3)r4c6=(3)r6c4; r7c4<>3

I shouldn't have needed that alternate, with MM's W-Wing staring at me. Embarassed
