Is it legal to do these without using chains?

Here is a two stepper using one chain, or an "almost" xy-chain one stepper.

xyz-wing(289)r5c9; r6c9<>2
(6)r7c6=(6)r6c6-(6=1)r6c7-(1=3)r6c9-(3=2)r6c3-(2=7)r7c3-(7=9=6)r7c76; r6c6<>6

or as an AXY-chain where r6c9=13 or r6c9=2

If r6c9=13: (6)r7c6=(6)r6c6-(6=1)r6c7-(1=3)r6c9-(3=2)r6c3-(2=7)r7c3-(7=9=6)r7c76; r6c6<>6
If r6c9=2: (2)r6c9-r6c1=r9c1-(2=7)r7c3-(7=9=6)r7c76; r6c6<>6

Discovered while reviewing Ted's AXY-Chain:

Code:
 (6=79)r7c67 - (7=2)r7c3 - r9c1 = (2-9)r6c1 = (9)r6c6  =>  r6c6<>6
 +-----------------------------------------------------+

 |  3    5    19   |  69   169  4    |  2    8    7    |
 |  6    2    19   |  7    3    8    |  5    19   4    |
 |-----------------+-----------------+-----------------|
 |  49   1    348  |  69   5    2    |  468  7    38   |
 |  5    6    248  |  1    7    3    |  489  29   289  |
 |  29   7    23   |  4    8    69   |  16   5    123  |

 |  8    4    5    |  3    29   79   |  179  129  6    |
 |  27   9    6    |  5    4    1    |  78   3    28   |

 # 45 eliminations remain

This is one of those scenarios that makes me unsettled because the ANP is in one house/unit and the elimination isn't.

Is it time to look for the gM-Wing with four strong inferences?

Does this feel any better ... Question (At the cost of an extra strong link)
Code:
(6=79)r78c6 - (9=2)r8c5 - r7c5=r7c3 ..... etc

As you know I'm all for exploring m-wing-like extensions.

Drop the first strong link. The gM-Wing is not on <6>.

It was a response to your comment about ANP not being in the same house as the elimination....

Perhaps this is the simplest one-stepper - for the same elimination with just two SL Smile
Code:
 *----------------------------------------------------*
 | 47   8    47   | 2    19   5     | 3     6    19   |
 | 3    5    19   | 69   169  4     | 2     8    7    |
 | 6    2    19   | 7    3    8     | 5     19   4    |
 |----------------+-----------------+-----------------|
 | 49   1    348  | 69   5    2     | 468   7    38   |
 | 5    6    248  | 1    7    3     | 489   29   289  |
 | 29   7    23   | 4    8    9-6   | (16)  5    123  |
 |----------------+-----------------+-----------------|
 | 1    3    27   | 8    269  *79+6 | *79   4    5    |
 | 8    4    5    | 3    29   *79   | *79+1 129  6    |
 | 27   9    6    | 5    4    1     | 78    3    28   |
 *----------------------------------------------------*

UR(79)r78c67[(6)r7c6=(1)r8c7] - (1=6)r6c7 ; r6c6<>6

Absolutely ! legalissimo Smile

If I'd known there was a transportable wing, I'd have put it in the "nice" section ... I soooo love these flightless killer creatures Very Happy
