Basics - skyscraper - done.
skyscraper in "3" rows 2 and 7, removes 3 from r1c8 - this is the one I used.

other options:
another skyscraper "9" rows 3 and 9
and an x-wing "4"

---
edited to make visible and correct typo (skyscraper 3 is in rows 2 and 7 among others)

For those wishing to try out ER’s, there is a feast of them here on <3>.
The two 3’s in C4 with the L shaped hinge in Box 3 eliminate R8C9.
Or there are the two 3’s in C6 with Box 9 to eliminate R2C9
Or R8 with Box 3 to whack R1C4
Or R7 with Box2 for R1C7
Or R2 etc

A veritable plethora.

Edited Note: I just noticed - they also form skyscrapers - but that's not the point. This is an ER tutorial. Rolling Eyes

Code:

A pair of finned X-wings. ("True" means: Is <3>.)
Code:
+-------+-------+-------+
| . . . | 3 . . | . 3 3 |
| . . . | . . 3 | . . 3 |
| . . . | . . . | . . . |

| . . . | . . . | . . . |
+-------+-------+-------+
| . . . | . . 3 | . 3 . |
| . . . | 3 . . | . . 3 |
| . . . | . . . | . . . |
+-------+-------+-------+
Look at R18: Either the X-wing is true, or R1C8 is true. Either way, R2C9 is not true.

Look at C49: Either the X-wing is true, or R2C9 is true. Either way, R1C8 is not true.

[Corrected: R1C8 above was R1C9.]

I believe I see only one x-wing (r18c49) with two fins. Looking at rows 1 and 8, the fin is r1c8 (not r1c9) and looking at cols 4 and 9 the fin is in r2c9.

Neat ... the fins eliminate each other ("self-sahimi-ing fish" Laughing)

Yes. I think this double fin is not that uncommon. Of course, if you eliminate one fin, the other is eliminated by a regular X-wing.

By the way, the intended solution is probably an X-wing on <4>, then two XY-wings. A much longer journey.

I noticed three different kites including the one in box <8> that also eliminated the <3> in r1c8 before I saw the skyscraper. Also, simple coloring eliminates <3s> from four cells including r1c8.

X-Wing in 4's r2c67 and r6c67 eliminatng the 4's in r26. With the pair 12 in c4 eliminating 1 in r4c4 opens an XY-Wing (248) with a Pivot in r5c5 {2,8}, Pincers in r4c4{4,8} and r5c2{2,4} eliminating 4 in r4c2 solves the puzzle.

Always like to find a killer solution, this one lies in Box 9.

There is an Empty Rectangle for digit <3> in Box 9, the ERI(Empty Rectangle Intersection) is in R7C9, it can see one of the strong link* on <3> in R2 which

eliminates <3> in R7C6, probably one of the ER's Craig mentioned.
