A very nice VH puzzle. I am not sure what was required, but my five steps were

X-Wing (8), Remote Pairs (35), XYZ (237), ERs (3, 5) and BUG+2. It's all the same, but I saw the BUG as if r8c9=3, then r5c9=7, forcing r5c6<>7.
