I don't see a lot of useful Type 3 URs but in this case it does the trick.
However, when I ignored the UR, it became a difficult puzzle for me to solve.

Ted, I think you may have overlooked a W-Wing.
Code: | +-------------------------------------+
| 459 579 1 | 6 47 2 | 3 89 78 |
| 349 279 346 | 48 5 78 | 24 19 167 |
| 8 27 46 | 3 9 1 | 24 67 5 |
---------------------------------------
| 7 3 9 | 48 14 5 | 6 18 2 |
| 2 6 5 | 9 13 38 | 7 4 18 |
| 1 4 8 | 2 67 67 | 9 5 3 |
---------------------------------------
| 6 1 2 | 7 8 4 | 5 3 9 |
| 59 59 34 | 1 2 36 | 8 67 467 |
| 34 8 7 | 5 36 9 | 1 2 46 |
+-------------------------------------+ |
The candidates (78) in r1c9 and r2c6 line up with the conjugates for 8 in row 5 so one of these two cells must contain 7.
The elimination of 7 from r1c5 solves the puzzle.

Thanks Steve, you nailed it I paid the price of overlooking it by working longer until I finally found a xy-chain, which is unusual for a BrainBuster..
