This is another Menneske that I found hard to get started, but then the next couple of moves were also hard........

I did find an unusual xyz-wing and an unusual w-wing strong link

Code after basics:
Code:

 *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------*
 | 4       359     38      | 15689   689     7       | 689     1689    2       |
 | 189     6       7       | 1589    2       89      | 4       3       1589    |
 | 189     59      2       | 145689  4689    3       | 6789    16789   1589    |
 |-------------------------+-------------------------+-------------------------|
 | 7       1       9       | 68      3       2       | 68      5       4       |
 | 68      4       5       | 7       689     1       | 3       2       89      |
 | 3       2       68      | 4689    5       4689    | 1       689     7       |
 |-------------------------+-------------------------+-------------------------|
 | 69      79      46      | 3       148     5       | 2       1789    189     |
 | 2       8       1       | 69      7       69      | 5       4       3       |
 | 5       379     34      | 2       148     48      | 789     1789    6       |
 *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------*

Quote:
xy-wing 46-9 with vertex 46 in r7c3. pincer 69 in r7c1 and extended pincer 49: (4-6)r7c3 = (6)r6c3 - (6=8)r5c1 - (8=9)r5c9; r7c9<>9,

xy-wing 48-9 with vertex 48 in r9c6, pincer 89 in r2c6 and extended pincer 49: (4)r9c6 - (4=3)r9c3 - (3=8)r1c3 - (8)r6c3 = (8)r5c1 - (8=9)r5c9; r2c9<>9,

xyz-wing 689 in r5c5 with extended external pincer
... If r5c5=6, then r4c4=8; r6c46<>8,
... if r5c5=8 then r6c46<>8,
... if r5c5=9 then r5c9=8, then r4c7<>8, then r4c4=8; r6c46<>8. Thus r6c46<>8

w-wing 89 in r2c6 & r5c9 and extended strong link 9 in box5
... if r5c5=9 thenr5c9=8,
... if r6c6=9 then r2c6=8,
... if r6c4=9 then r8c4<>9, then r8c6=9, then r2c6=8
so the w-wing directly eliminates the 8 in r2c9. Now, transport 8 in r5c9 to r4c4 via r4c7 to delete 8 in r123c4.

After cleanup a w-wing 89 in r1c7 & r6c8 with strong link 8 in col3 deletes 9 in r13c8. Transport 9 in r6c8 to r3c9 via r5c9 to delete 9 in r3c7. Another transport 9 r6c8 to r5c5 via r5c9 to delete 9 in r1c5.

x-wing 9 in r35c59 deletes 9 in r3c124 to complete the puzzle.

The two unusual moves made this a fun puzzle, but other solutions are probably more direct.

ted,
doing what you did to extend some named techniques was about as direct as can be expected for this puzzle. very nice.

This is a network, but it cracks the puzzle after basics.

Code:

 (8=6)r6c3 - r5c1 = r5c5 - r4c4 = r4c7 - (6=89)r1c57 - (8)r1c3 = (8)r6c3
