I do try to reduce the number of steps by looking for backdoors and removing uncessary steps. I have worked this one down to six steps needed. two x-wings, a kite, a skyscraper, a w-wing and an xyz-wing. A good puzzle. I have yet to find the door. Has anyone had better luck? |

The W-Wing (or a gM-Wing) is probably as good as it gets. For added adventure, try bypassing any W-Wing or gM-Wing. |

I started with the obvious x-wing 9, and then I found a w-wing 36.
At that point I struggled until I found a xyz-wing 469 that I have previously missed! I sure paid the price on overlooking this move previously.
Straightforward skyscraper on 6 and an ER on 6 completed the puzzle.

I used four ERs, all on 9, then a Hidden UR on 67, then stuck. A Medusa wrap opened things up, after which a flightless XY-Wing on 673 with pincer transport finished it off. |

If you bypass the W-Wing and gM-Wings, then the challenge continues.
