It is always fun when you find a one stepper: Quote: | (5)r7c8=(5-7)r3c8=(7)r3c5-(7)r4c5=(7-5)r5c6=(5)r8c6
=> r7c45,r8c79<>5

I don't know what Dan's one-stepper is, but I used two ERs on 5, then a seldom-used (by me) fin transport on 7 to finish it off. |

Whenever I post a puzzle with a few steps that are close together in the solution, the possibility that a chain exists to circumvent them is very likely. Often, multiple chains exist. Dan and Norm like to find chains! As long as it doesn't discourage others, I see no harm in letting them do what makes them happy. My only other option is to post more BBDB puzzles.
Since I put a lot of effort into selecting puzzles that are difficult w/o needing chains, all non-chain solutions give me a sense of accomplishment.
Thank You for posting your solution!!!
Regards, Danny |

Regards, Danny | Would it be better if I called it "5 pinchers with a transport".
It is fun for me but I don't want to spoil the fun for others. Let me know if my fun bothers any one and I will quit. |
