Talk about polarized! Thursday's puzzle solves with basics, and Friday's puzzle needs ALS support.

I screwed up, but don't want to do it again. Basics got me down to a situation that was a BUG+1 or Type 1 UR involving the same cell. But the cell had a different solution for each technique. I played the UR and finished.

The chain is mine ... and the rest is my solver.

Ouch! I wasn't expecting that... had to deploy one of my "Almost xy-chains"

Code:
almost xy-chain (8=3)r5c1-(3=1 fin 6)r5c8-(1=4)r1c8-(4=8)r1c5; r5c5<>8
fin (6)r5c8- (6=78)r4c79-(78=3)r4c1-(3=8)r5c1; r5c5<>8

xy-wing(37-8) r6c8; r4c4<>8
