One stepper..............
Quote: | Kraken cell (359)r7c6
(3)r7c6; r9c4<>3
(5)r7c6-(5=3)r7c4; r9c4<>3
(9)r7c6-r7c5=r6c5-(9=3)r6c3-r7c3=(3)r9c1; r9c4<>3 |

I don't think I really know what a 'kraken cell' is? Seems to be like a cell forcing chain? (Don't mean anything perjorative by that!)
Another one stepper is an ANP..
Quote: | ANP[(9)r7c5=(23)r7c35] - (3=5)r7c4 - (5=4)r6c4 - (4=5)r6c2 - (5=2)r8c2 - (2=3)r7c3 - (3=9)r6c3 ; r6c5<>9 |
Interestingly the same cells in the xy-chain also form a cycle which does damage on 3s and 5s |

Peter,
Here is the reference I used for an understanding of Kraken cells: http://www.dailysudoku.co.uk/sudoku/forums/viewtopic.php?p=25381#25381
I believe you were also involved in the posts.

And I have a hard time distinguishing an almost technique from one with a Kraken Cell. But I'm pretty sure that Ted's solution is a forcing chain because there's no technique associated with the cell.
Sudopedia only has "Kraken Fish", so we have another instance of a phrase missing a definition. |
