Potential DP 78 is labeled *.
Either:
R78C1=16; 16 pair in B7; R7C3=8; R1C8=8.
or:
R7C8=9; 18 pair in C9; R1C8=8.

Thanks. I was just attacking it in a different way, trying to use pincers. The pincers in r7c3 and r1c8 take out the 8 from r1c3 which makes r1c8=8. I should have followed up a little more closely. |

XY-Chain
If r7c2=1, then, r2c2=5 ->r2c3=4 ->r6c3=6; r7c3<>6 solves it. |

After basics: Code: | +----------------+----------------+----------------+
| 3 269 268 | 26 1 5 | 4 89 7 |
| 14 15 45 | 7 38 9 | 6 2 38 |
| 68 269 7 | 246 238 34 | 1 5 389 |
+----------------+----------------+----------------+
| 2 3 9 | 5 7 1 | 8 4 6 |
| 5 7 1 | 8 4 6 | 9 3 2 |
| 46 8 46 | 3 9 2 | 7 1 5 |
+----------------+----------------+----------------+
| 1678 16 68 | 24 23 34 | 5 6789 189 |
| 1678 4 3 | 9 5 78 | 2 678 18 |
| 9 25 25 | 1 6 78 | 3 78 4 |
+----------------+----------------+----------------+ |
To avoid the DP, either
R78C1 is 16, forming a 16 pair in B7; R7C3 is 8. Or
R7C8 is 68, forming an XY-wing 6-89.
Either way, R1C3 <>8, solving the puzzle.
