Someone had better check the basics. I couldn't find any but there sure are a lot more candidates that usual. Oh, and if anyone can find a single-step solution, I'd love to see it!

Hey Marty, how do I get the whited out answer to display my 'less than sign followed by a greater than sign followed by an 8' correctly instead of putting the 8 between the less than and greater than signs? Thanks.

What happened? Presumably in the above you wrote "is not 8" because <>8 did not display correctly.

Note that below the message box are some boxes that can be checked. If you got a smiley, which often happens when typing an 8, then check the box to disable smilies. Sometimes things don't display correctly but a smiley is not the problem. Often checking the box to disable HTML fixes these issues. HTML uses the left and right arrow (which you're calling the less than and greater than signs whereas BBCode uses a left and right bracket instead.

Yes, that's exactly what happened Marty! I tried 'quoting' them, 'coding' them, and anything else I could think of but nothing seemed to work. I'll try what you suggested right now and see if it fixes it.

Hmmm, it doesn't seem to be doing it now. You know, I really think that I do have to start getting some more sleep. I don't know what I did wrong. Thanks Marty.

What? I must have missed something then! I'll go do it again. I'll be darned - I hate when that happens.

Hi Guys,
I saw your 26-8 XY, but then I got to here and needed a 28-3 XY to finish.

I'm bad with triples, so maybe I missed one.
Rick
PS I spent some time making the grid look pretty, but all my inserted spaces are now gone.

My "one-stepper" was with pencil and paper, but when I tried it on Draw/Play the one wing wasn't enough. Never trust me with stuff like that. I make too many mechanical errors.

You make mechanical errors? You should see the time I had with this one! Holy crow! I had trouble the second time around! (And I'm still not done.)

Hey Rick! The same thing happened to me with grids displaying all screwed up so Marty explained to me. You have to click on the 'Code' button before you paste your grid - and then click on the 'Code' button again after you've pasted it. You'll see entries in your post that indicate the beginning and ending of your 'fixed font code' (i.e. the grid). Then you can hit 'Preview' to see how it's going to look before you post it. When it looks good to you, you can hit 'Submit'. Don.

Marty! I WISH that I made the number of errors that you - or Keith - or Clement - or JC - or Bat - or Dan - or Hugh... Oh, never mind - this could take all day!

Extended XYWing(268)B4R5 -> r3c9={} or r4c1=2; singles to the end of a unique solution.
An example of the exclusion of 2r4c9 -> r4c1=2 :
Code:
+----------------+----------------+---------------------+
| 1479   6  149  | 5   1249  124  | 3789    (34)  1378  |
| 149    3  5    | 49  8     7    | 29      6     (12)  |
| 1479   2  8    | 6   149   3    | 79      (45)  (157) |
+----------------+----------------+---------------------+
| 28     9  7    | 34  45    458  | 6       1     38-2  |
| 5      1  (26) | 39  79    (68) | 3(278)  (23)  4     |
| 68     4  3    | 2   17    168  | 5       9     8(7)  |
+----------------+----------------+---------------------+
| 2369   7  269  | 1   235   25   | 4       8     23569 |
| 2349   8  249  | 7   6     245  | 1       235   2359  |
| 12346  5  1246 | 8   234   9    | 23      7     236   |
+----------------+----------------+---------------------+
In English :
    r5c3=6 -> r5c78=2
    or
    r5c3=2 -> r5c8=3, r1c8=3, r3c8=5 and r5c6=6, r5c7=8, r6c9=7; r3c9=1, r2c9=2

In Eureka notation : Kraken Cell (157)r3c9
    ||1r3c9-(1=2)r2c9
    ||5r3c9-(5=4)r2c8-(4=3)r1c8-(3=2)r5c8
    ||7r3c9-7r6c9=(7-8)r5c7=(8-6)r5c6=(6-2)r5c3=2r5c78

...

Whatever the "notation" of the proof, one gets the following derived constraint : [2r5c78==2r2c9] -> -2r4c9; stte
