I need help with a puzzle i found in todays The Times magazine. I've spent little over an hour and have found only one number. It's extremely frustrating. I blame it on my tiredness. Thanks to anyone that can help

Hi Matt,
I suppose that you need only a "push" of help and not the entire solution.
So, here is the way to find only the next number:

1 in r2c6 - Sole Candidate
7 not in r3c3, Naked Triple 5 7 8 in Column 3 Rows 5 2 6
8 not in r3c3, Naked Triple 5 7 8 in Column 3 Rows 5 2 6
7 not in r4c3, Naked Triple 5 7 8 in Column 3 Rows 5 2 6
8 not in r4c3, Naked Triple 5 7 8 in Column 3 Rows 5 2 6
7 not in r7c3, Naked Triple 5 7 8 in Column 3 Rows 5 2 6
7 not in r8c3, Naked Triple 5 7 8 in Column 3 Rows 5 2 6
1 in r4c3 - Sole Candidate

P.S. r2c6 - means Row 2, Column 6.
