Hi Pete,

Your problem may be that you have not copied the puzzle correctly. Today's puzzle has a 3 in r3c9 which you do not have.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Geoff.

Hi there,

Well, I think I have to concur with David on this one - unfortunately it appears that both of telflonmail's solutions are incorrect and that David's solution is the one true solution.

Hi there,

Actually, there is no reason why you must sove for cell r3c8 before solving for cell r3c9. The idea is not to find where the 8 must go, but rather to eliminate the number 4.

To do this, yo ...

Hi Franko,

No, you certainly don't need trial and error for these puzzles. Consider the following;

1. First look at Column 2. There is a pair of 3,6 in r1c2 and r7c2. Therefore, you can eliminate al ...

Hi there,

You've done well so far. What you need to do now is consider Row 5. There is a triplet of 1,3,7 in this row - cells r5c3, r5c4 and r5c7. Therefore you can delete all other 1s, 3s and 7s fro ...

Hi Phil,

Im not sure if you took David's advice on board as your posting shows Cell r8c8 still empty. Using David's hints, you can place Nr 5 in r8c8.

Then you can place Nr 5 in r7c5 since it is the ...

You should look at Row 4. There is a triplet of 2,4,5 in the cells r4c2, r4c3 and r4c5. This means you can eliminate all other Nrs 2,4 and 5 from other cells in Row 4. Since the only possib ...
