Right, Norm, that's a BUG+1 with "8" as the odd one out in r1c7.
Code: |
+--------------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+
| 12 3 6 | 4 58 9 | 278 78 15 |
| 58 4 58 | 7 1 2 | 9 6 3 |
| 9 12 7 | 3 58 6 | 28 4 15 |
+--------------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+
| 4 8 1 | 5 2 3 | 67 79 69 |
| 3 5 2 | 6 9 7 | 4 1 8 |
| 6 7 9 | 1 4 8 | 3 5 2 |
+--------------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+
| 18 19 3 | 2 6 4 | 5 89 7 |
| 7 6 58 | 9 3 15 | 18 2 4 |
| 25 29 4 | 8 7 15 | 16 3 69 |
+--------------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+

I must have missed something cause I did not arrive at that BUG+1 when I did it with PnP but used a flightless xy-wing + transport to solve the puzzle:
12-28-18 (row 3, col 7) is an xy-wing that doesn't do anything.
But transporting the 1 in r3c2 via r1c1,r9c1 to r9c6 lets us eliminate 1 from r8c6 and r9c7
Tthe xy-wing basically says that if r8c7 is not 1 then r3c2 is 1.
The transport continues with "if r3c2=1 then r1c1=2 then r9c1=5 then r9c6=1"
The "1"s in r9c6 and r8c7 act as pincers like in a regular xy-wing. |
