OK! I admit: I have never used Draw / Play.

Is there an easy way to enter a puzzle? Suppose I have:

Code:
+-------+-------+-------+
 | 5 7 . | . . . | . 8 3 |
 | 1 . . | . . . | . . 6 |
 | . . . | . 4 . | . . . |
 +-------+-------+-------+
 | . . . | 7 . 1 | . . . |
 | . . 9 | . . . | 6 . . |
 | . . . | 3 . 4 | . . . |
 +-------+-------+-------+
 | . . . | . 2 . | . . . |
 | 7 . . | . . . | . . 8 |
 | 8 2 . | . . . | . 1 7 |
 +-------+-------+-------+

What is the quickest way for me to get a printed copy to take on a trip?

Thank you,

Keith

Just go to the home page and click Draw/Play at the left. The blank grid will appear and then just type in the givens and click Print at the bottom of the box to the right of the grid. You can navigate the grid with the arrow keys or just click in the cell you want to enter or just hit the space bar to advance one cell at a time.

If you make an error, just click the cell and hit the Delete key or space bar.

It's handy when people put their puzzles on the forum with D/P. That way, we have the option of playing online or printing it out.

Good luck.

Marty,

Too much work!

In Sudoku Susser, you can cut and paste any "code" grid. In fact, you can right-click on the Daily Sudoku, "Copy Image", and paste it into the Susser.

If I have to type into each cell, I may as well write them into an already printed copy of my solving template.

I had written in a post just a few days ago that the ability to import puzzles is high on my D/P wish list.

There's not a lot of difference in time or work that I can see between writing clues on a blank grid vs. typing them into D/P.

Have a good trip.

keith, or anybody wishing either to print sudokus from various sources, or to use the draw/play/print function of dailysudoku.com:

I've written a simple HTML/javascript application to do just that. Not very sophisticated but does the job.

.ZIP file 6k (one .html, one .css, one .js)

Too bad it is not possible to attach .zip files here in the post, but just drop me a PM and I'll mail it to you.
