1) 69 in r3c3 (marked c) means r2c1 and r3c8 will always have the same solution
2) the strong link (6) in row 4 (marked w) means at least one of r2c1 and r3c8 are 9
1 and 2 together solve both r2c1 and r3c8 as "9"
This effect was first mentioned here by keith a few weeks ago (thread: "A day for easy puzzles?")
BTW, the pattern in those 5 cells can also be seen as a skyscraper in rows 3 and 4. The same elimination is made, but the logic is different. |
