The Diabolical wasn't very diabolical. Like one simple coloring on 8. |

The kids had fun with this one. Here is what I found after a kite er and a couple of x-wings: What do you call it?
Code: |
+-----------+------------+-------------+
| 6 1 4 | 8 9 *25 | 7 *25 3 |
| 8 59 3 | 257 1 *57 | 259 6 4 |
| 2 59 7 | 36 4 36 | 59 1 8 |
+-----------+------------+-------------+
| 4 3 25 | 1 8 56-7| 256 *57 9 |
| 15 6 9 | 25 27 4 | 3 8 127 |
| 7 8 125 | 256 3 9 | 1256 4 126 |
+-----------+------------+-------------+
| 3 7 156 | 4 25 8 | 126 9 126 |
| 15 4 156 | 9 57 23 | 8 23 167 |
| 9 2 8 | 37 6 1 | 4 37 5 |
+-----------+------------+-------------+

Play this puzzle online at the Daily Sudoku site
Edit: My eyes are bad thought you said this was for kids instead of kicks. Good puzzle anyway

I'd call that a w-wing.
Two identical bi-value cells (57), each sees one end of a strong link (5 in row 1). Remove 7 from all cells that see both pincers (r4c5) |

Thanks. I still get confused on m-wings and w-wings. Someday the lights will come on. |

I agree the "11-7 Competition" offered no real competition. I spotted the skyscraper on <8> which also was sufficient to complete the puzzle.

I found a couple of solutions for Telegraph #1192. A two-stepper is Quote: | the Type 1 UR59 and an ER5 in box 8 with sl in col 1.
