I solved this with basics. Usually when that happens, someone says, "no way, you made a lucky mistake." OK, fire away!!

I got here with basics. What now?

Beats me. Maybe I'll try it again when I get a chance.

It can be solved with an X-Wing, Skyscraper, and XY-Wing. But, if you forgo the XY-Wing, it is much tougher. I used two URs, a Sue de Coq, a W-Wing and a BUG+3! Don't know if they were all necessary, though.

[Edit to add...] They weren't all necessary. Avoiding XY(Z) Wings/Chains, I found: X-Wing, Skyscraper, Sue de Coq, W-Wing, M-Wing (generalized).

Asellus: Impressive effort! You could have skipped those in orange above.

Code:
gM-Wing: [r7c8] [r9c7] [r9c6] [r8c6] => [r8c7]<>9

This puzzle has a couple of twists. If you missed the Skyscraper, then you would have run into an XYZ-Wing instead of the XY-Wing. It was perfect as a No puzzle!

Hah! Didn't see that gMW. Mine, after the orange steps, was in r4c7, r4c6, r9c6, r8c6 for the same elimination. I guess I was seduced by Sue:
