these puzzles are nice for the VH tech's required. unless one non-VH tech can do it, like this:
(4=2)r8c7 - (2)r7c8 = (2-3)r6c8 = (3)r4c8 - (3)r4c6 = (3-2)r7c6 = (2)r7c6; r7c6 <> 4

Well, I practiced my VH techniques, and practiced, and practiced; eight times Exclamation
I have to believe that some steps did not directly contribute to the solution, but they were still fun. Thanks Danny for another BBDB.

Initially, I had to scratch for random deletions but later choices appeared. In random order, I had an ER, four URs of various types, two w-wings, x-wing, and a couple of transports.

Marty, I followed your chain until the last step. Did you mean
(4=2)r8c7 - (2)r7c8 = (2-3)r6c8 = (3)r4c8 - (3)r4c6 = (3-2)r7c6 = (2)r8c6, or did I "read" the notation incorrectly? Also, does you chain really state that r8c7<>2?

Ted
P.S. Great chain.....

Ted: I believe this is Norm's correct chain and elimination.

For clarity, think of it as starting with an assertion and ending with a contradiction. This works well when there is a single elimination.

(4)r8c6 - (4=2)r8c7 - (2)r7c8 = (2-3)r6c8 = (3)r4c8 - (3)r4c6 = (3-2)r7c6 = (2)r8c6; r8c6 <> 4
