The March 28 DB is a multi-tasker. I had to color twice (1,5) then use an xy-chain to eliminate <7's>. There must be a more direct route.

Good one. I used an x-wing on 7, ER on 1, colouring on 5 and a UR. |

I used an M-Wing on 15 plus a pincer transport, then a W-Wing on another set of 15 cells, then a Type 1 UR on 15 followed by an XY-Chain. |

the skyscraper on 1's masks the single step move.
using the strong link on 1's in row 9 to connect the {1,5} cell in r4c5 and the {1,8} cell in r5c8.
either the 5 is true in r4c5 or the 8 is true in r5c8...
extend the 8 from r5c8 to r4c2 and the 5 in r4c2 can be eliminated...
solving the puzzle in one step.
this is the chain...
(5=1)r4c5 - (1)r9c5 = (1)r9c8 - (1=8)r5c8 - (8)r4c7 = (8)r4c2; r4c2 <> 5
the part marked in RED should look familiar.
its basically a disguised w-wing except in this w-wing, the pincers are 5 and 8 |
