I needed four moves beyond the basics to solve.

Quote:
3 skyscraper
261 xy-wing
69-92-26-62-29-95-56
6 skyscraper

An enjoyable three-stepper.

Coloring (3), XY-Wing (261) and W-Wing (29) with pincer transport.

I'm guessing your W-Wing (29) with pincer transport is the same as my XY chain 69-92-26-62-29-95-56. The chain resulted in r1c2<>6, r79c1<>6. Is that the same eliminations your W-wing made?

I still needed a skyscraper (6) to finish it after that.

My 29 cells were in r8c8 and r2c4, linked by the 2s in row 1. The 9 was transported from r2c4 to r1c3 via r1c4 and the 9 from r8c3 was eliminated.

gindaani,
that is a nice xy-chain.
if you were at all curious, FWIW the chain can be shortened.

(6=2)r1c8 - (2=9)r8c8 - (9=5)r8c2 - (5=6)r9c2

A slightly different, but similar three stepper:
skyscraper 2,
skyscraper 3,
w-wing 29 at r2c4 & r8c8 with strong link 2 in box3 and 9 at r8c8 transported to r9c1 via r9c8.

The shorter chain does not eliminate 6 from r7c1, which is necessary to set up the skyscraper (6) to solve the puzzle. With the shorter chain, I needed at least 1 extra step.

That's a really nice move!

It can be stated in Eureka as:

(9=2)r8c8 - (2)r1c8 = (2)r1c4 - (2=9)r2c4 - (9)r1c4 = (9)r1c3

That could be shortened to the chain:

(9=2)r8c8 - (2)r1c8 = (2-9)r1c4 = (9)r1c3

I have to stop staying up so late.
for some unknown reason my brain tried telling me that the 6 you were eliminating was in box 1... Rolling Eyes
