Last puzzle of the set. Solvable as a one-stepper using a 4-cell XY-Chain -- so don't use it.

Code:
 +-----------------------+
 | 9 6 2 | . . . | 1 3 . |
 | 3 8 . | . . . | . 9 . |
 | 4 . . | . . 3 | . 5 2 |
 |-------+-------+-------|
 | . . . | 5 9 . | . . . |
 | . . . | 8 . . | 4 6 . |
 | . . 6 | . . 4 | . . . |
 |-------+-------+-------|
 | 6 . . | . 4 . | 5 . . |
 | 7 4 9 | . 5 . | . 1 . |
 | . . 3 | . . . | . . 6 |
 +-----------------------+

My one step solution was a:
Quote:
xy-wing 789 with pivot 89 at r9c7 and pseudo-cell 78 in col7 to delete 7 from r12c9.

Help! I see this xy-chain but can't see the pseudo-cell 78 or the chain to remove 7's from r12c9.

r23c7 is the pseudocell {7,8} both containing 6 also

(7=9)r7c9 - (9=8)r9c7 - {(8=6)r3c7 - (6=7)r2c7} <--- brackets is the pseudocell.

Thanks,

I finally see it! Very Happy I keep trying to go two ways on an xy-wing when you just have to go one. ie r9c7<>7 causing r2c7 to be 7

that chain is valid in both directions.

r2c7 <> 7 leads to r7c9 = 7
