Danny, I enjoyed this puzzle greatly! I did not need your hint, nor did I find an advanced fish but I did use a normal finned x-wing as a Kraken x-wing. My steps were:
finned x-wing 2 r67c49,
kite 2 with pivot in box6,
kite 5 with pivot in box6,
xy-wing 235 with pivot 23 in r6c9,
finned x-wing 2 r26c49,
Sashimi x-wing 5 r25c28,
finned x-wing 5 r39c17 makes a deletion in r3c3, and transporting the fin in r2c1 to r3c7 via r2c8 makes another deletion in r3c4,
BUG+1 sets r3c1=3

I used a few ERs, XY-Wing, Finned X-Wing and then got stuck and had to turn to Medusa. A few traps set up a puzzle ending kite or Remote Pairs. |
