Not a comment on the solution techniques. A comment on Lord Stanley's Cup.

It depends on your point of view. Detroit actually stacks up pretty well, with the Red Wings (hockey), Pistons (basketball) and Tigers (baseball). They also have the Shock (women's basketball).
The problem with the Lions is Bill Ford, (edit: the elder) who was given the team since he was incompetent to manage an auto company. As if anyone else in this town has proved competent to run an auto company.

if the 4 in r7c2 is false, then the naked triple {2,5,7} is true...
Code: | .---------------------.---------------------.---------------------.
| 245 8 9 | 7 124 12 | 245 3 6 |
| 6 *147 3 | 5 *24 8 |*247 14 9 |
| 2457 1457 57 | 6 9 3 | 24578 145 128 |
:---------------------+---------------------+---------------------:
| 9 3 2 | 1 57 4 | 6 8 57 |
| 8 57 4 | 23 23 6 | 1 9 57 |
| 57 6 1 | 8 57 9 | 3 2 4 |
:---------------------+---------------------+---------------------:
| 3 *245 *-58 | 9 6 7 | 2458 145 128 |
| 1 *27 *78 | 4 *28 5 | 9 6 3 |
|*45 9 6 | 23 1238 12 | 45 7 28 |
'---------------------'---------------------'---------------------' |
nt = naked triple
(5=4)r9c1 - (4)r7c2 = (nt257)r578c2 - (7)r2c2 = (7-2)r2c7 = (2)r2c5 - (2=8)r8c5 - (8)r8c3 = (8)r7c3; r7c3 <> 5

Are you talking about the younger Bill? I think the old man got rid of Millen because of Bill. That should've been a good start. |

I thought this was worthy of a comparative mention on the Daily forum puzzle. |
