I've done a number of his 19s and this is the toughest for me that I can recall.
I'm stuck big-time. |

+----------------+----------------+----------------+ | Th M-wing built on 25 is a one-stepper.
There is a W-wing 1-6 and some other stuff, but I didn't get anywhere with those.

I used the W-Wing on 16 and a couple of ERs to no avail, then Medusa-ed my way out of the impasse. (My talent lies in finding the useless moves )
I have no way of knowing what my grid was like at the time, but the probability is that the M-Wing was there and I missed it. |

Medusa coloring will find the M-wing, if it happens to be in the cluster you chose ...

Don't overestimate my ability to detect an M-Wing in the course of Medusa-ing. |

You don't have to recognize it as a wing. Here it is: Code: | +----------------+----------------+----------------+
| 8 1 26 | 9 257 2r5g | 4 67 3 |
| 5 3 26 | 128 1278 4 | 16 1678 9 |
| 4 9 7 | 168 1368 13 | 2 5 18 |
+----------------+----------------+----------------+
| 6 4 3 | 7 9 12g5 | 8 12 15 |
| 7 2 59 | 3 15 8 | 159 4 6 |
| 1 58 589 | 2r5g 4 6 | 359 23 7 |
+----------------+----------------+----------------+
| 2 6 1 | 5r8 358 3-5 | 7 9 4 |
| 9 58 4 | 126 126 7 | 1356 1368 158 |
| 3 7 58 | 4 16 9 | 156 168 2 |
+----------------+----------------+----------------+ | Start in R1C6 with 2 red and 5 green. Color 2 to R6C4 and then 5 to R7C4. R7C6 sees both 5r and 5g, so the candidate 5 is eliminated.
That's why it is called an M-wing. It is (I think) the simplest case of Medusa coloring).

I started with a xy-wing 35-8 with pivot 35 in r7c6 and pseudocell pincer 38 in row3 to remove 8 from r3c4,
then another xy-wing 13-6 with pivot 13 in r3c6 and pincer 36 by (3)r3c6 - (3=5)r7c6 - (5)r7c4 = (5) r6c4 - (5=1)r5c5 - (1=6)r9c5; delete 6 r3c5 & r8c4,
still another xy-wing -125 with pivot 25 in r6c4 to delete 1 in r89c5,
and finally a x-wing 1 in r34c69.

Ted | Ted,
Is there a medal? I saw some of those useless wings but did not see the transport.
