I really enjoyed the Christmas puzzles. Challenging. Thanks.
The 'very hard' daily puzzles seem to have got easier, though. Is it just me?

Possibly..! but I have just tried keith's puzzle posted on 31 Dec. Two hours making some progress but now I'm stuck and I think I am going back to look at the discussion that follows.
Still learning!

Sheila, Here are two URLs that are great in explaining this concept:
http://www.brainbashers.com/sudokuxwing.htm
http://www.brainbashers.com/sudokuswordfish.htm

Hope this helps. I'm about to try it on January 3 puzzle 'cause I'm stumped.

Hi SR,

You should know and apply the "Turbot fish" which is solving a lot more puzles than the Swordfish, Jellyfish and Squirmbag all together !!!

In this discussion forum you can find out about this technique. Just use the "Search" and choose the "Turbot" keyword.

I can also supply you some training examples, if you want.

see u,

Hi, Sheila!

Sorry to be so slow responding to your request -- I've got plumbing problems in the bathroom upstairs. Sad

Anyway, I've posted an expanded description of the solution to Keith's puzzle right here. I've included something of an explanation of the jellyfish, and of the swordfish, which you may find helpful. dcb

Thanks everyone for help on these techniques. That was a really good puzzle that keith posted, as he says, good for learning on.
