Not dumb for a relatively new person to my puzzles.
BBDB: Bend But Don't Break
I believe it was Ted that coined this phrase after working his way through one puzzle with many steps. Sometime later, I started including BBDB in the title to warn that my solver didn't encounter a solution shorter than five steps. Of course, my solver's solution is based on trying to find easier steps first. It doesn't account for Marty slipping in a W-Wing to cut it to three steps.

Danny, thanks.
Good to play puzzles that dont fold on the first advanced play - but also dont require APE, ALS stuff that I for one, find too painful to spot with only the use of my soft organic computer.. |

Peter,
I probably have messed up on basics but when I was following your nice 4 stepper I couldn't make the 6 at r5c8 go away in order to set up your final xy chain which elminates the 7 at r1c7.
(I did see an xy just before that step that got rid of that 6; pincers at r5c1 and r1c8) |

Ran it through again, I had a few basic steps between the xy-wing and UR - including a hidden pair 35 in row 8. After the UR had a lot of singles and played the xy-chain when the puzzle was almost done. 6 was placed in row 8. I could post a grid at a stage if you want? |
