Four steps.

(9=3)r7c9 - AUR29[(3)r8c7 = (6)r9c1]r89c17 - (6=9)r9c6; r7c56|r9c7<>9,
kite 2 with hinge in b4; r1c6<>2,
xy-wing 38-9 with vertex 38 in r5c5; r9c6<>9
ALS789[(78)r3c27 = (9)r3c2]r3c27 - r3c4 = r6c4 - (9=8)r4c6; r3c6<>8.

I used five steps, Type 4 (34), Type 6 (29), ER (2), XY (389) and Type 4 (68) used to create pincers.

We may be having fun, but I don't think we're on the same puzzle.

This puzzle starts off with <1> as a candidate in five cells ... and none of them contain a <35>.
