Doing this UR first saves a step..
Quote: | Type 2 UR(26) r27c56; r7c9<>8, r9c46<>8
xy-wing(348); r9c1<>3 |
Having had a nice UR, I tried to make use of the UR(19) but although I could eliminate 1 from r3c59 due to strong links of 9 it didn't help; I couldn't find a way of using the strong link created between (3)r3c5=(5)r3c9; also looked at the potential hidden UR(14) r23c27 but only one strong link on 1s.
Was I missing anything or were they just not useful? |

Peterj,
I solved this puzzle using the exact steps you used, and I also tried to use the strong inference, (3)r3c5=(5)r3c9, provided by the UR19 without success.
