My mom and two aunts worked as live operators for phone calls when I was a youth. When I was very young, my grandparents had a party-line phone that you had to crank to reach an operator that would complete the call ... and it was my job to crank when they held me up to it. |

Well, I never drove an Aston-Martin, but I think the '48 Chevy had the foot started and the '52 had the push button. |

I remember a foot starter, I was young, 1950 something and an old car.
I remember a Hillman with "wings" that flipped out as turn signals.
Most people stuck their arms out for stop, turn left, turn right.
Sheeps, though I am drifting into age, crank phones still trump me! |
