I wondered whether a BUG +2 is valid . i.e there are two chains each of which would put a 5 in row 2 if Bug +1 logic were to be applied to the chain. so r2c6 cannot be 5????
Can anyone enlighten me? |

After basics: Code: | +-------------+-------------+-------------+
| 29 35 4 | 7 19 35 | 6 12 8 |
| 7 358 6 | 2 18 35 | 145 9 45 |
| 29 58 1 | 4 89 6 | 57 27 3 |
+-------------+-------------+-------------+
| 5 6 8 | 3 2 1 | 47 47 9 |
| 4 1 9 | 5 7 8 | 3 6 2 |
| 3 7 2 | 6 4 9 | 8 5 1 |
+-------------+-------------+-------------+
| 8 4 7 | 9 36 2 | 15 13 56 |
| 6 2 3 | 1 5 4 | 9 8 7 |
| 1 9 5 | 8 36 7 | 2 34 46 |
+-------------+-------------+-------------+ | Yes, I believe there is a BUG+2: One of R2C27 must be 5, eliminating 5 in R2C69.

In addition to the UR and two XY-Wings and BUG+2, there are at least two XY-Chains which also solve in one step. |

Marty,
I see only one XY-wing -457, but I do also see an XYZ-wing 14-5.

I used the 358 UR... this one seemed pretty simple. It took me less than 20 seconds after basics to spot it. And I immediately spotted an XY chain |

The UR just pops out at you. The XY wing on 457 or the XYZ wing 145 works equally well. |
