Hi I am getting better at Sudoku but don't understand the hints on this puzzle.
After filling in the obvious numbers, the 'Hint' function inserted a
'2' at R3C4.
I don't see how you can define this as a '2' from the information you have.
Can someone please explain?
Thanks

Claire, can you post a grid at the point you asked for that hint? You put in the obvious numbers, but what's obvious to one may not be obvious to another, so it's hard to try and determine what your position might've been. |

Claire,
Maybe you are here? Code: | +----------------+----------------+----------------+
| 8 5 2 | 179 479 147 | 6 3 149 |
| 469 3 146 | 5 2469 8 | 124 7 1249 |
| 469 16 7 | 129 3 146 | 8 249 5 |
+----------------+----------------+----------------+
| 1 9 8 | 37 567 2 | 34 456 347 |
| 367 267 356 | 4 1 9 | 23 256 8 |
| 3467 267 3456 | 8 567 367 | 9 1 2347 |
+----------------+----------------+----------------+
| 2 167 136 | 1379 8 1347 | 5 49 1349 |
| 37 4 13 | 6 279 5 | 123 8 1239 |
| 5 8 9 | 123 24 134 | 7 24 6 |
+----------------+----------------+----------------+ |
Note the 24 pair in R9. After you eliminate 2 in R9C4, R3C4 must be 2 in C4.
