Three VH steps..
Quote: | x-wing(5) ; r48c58<>5
xy-wing(14-3) r5c1 ; r4c56<>3
xy-wing(12-5) r4c8 ; r4c9<>5, r5c5<>5 |
Pretty much same as JC (I think!) |

Yes. Unfortunately, there are only four non-basic techniques for VH ... and the distribution of these techniques is not uniform in the puzzles I generate. On top of that, I try to limit posted puzzles to just 3-4 VH steps, which limits my options further. Suggestions anyone? |

Danny,
I never look at any posted results until after I complete the puzzle, so I am just fine the way things are presently.

When I first came to this forum earlier this year I progressed from the VH on the main page to your VH puzzles and they were clearly much better and a great step up. Even though there are only four techniques they are much better mixed than the main VH puzzle which "always" is a single xy-wing. I think you're doing a good job! |
