Two steps...
Quote:
kite(4) c2, r8 ; r2c7<>4
xy-chain ; (6=7)r6c8 - (7=4)r9c8 - (4=6)r9c2 - (6=4)r2c2 - (4=2)r2c1 - (2=6)r2c7 ; r1c8<>6

And definitely not a w-wing(64) with two pseudocells Laughing
Quote:
w-wing(64) with pseudocells ; (6=7)r6c8-(7=4)r9c8 - r9c2=r2c3 - (4=2)r2c1-(2=6)r2c7

Interesting last move - sort of half way between kraken cell and wxyz-wing?

Peter,

I thought it was a standard wxyz-wing. I don't think I have ever found one before, so maybe my understanding of a wxyz-wing is not correct. I do believe it is a Kraken cell but wanted to use the standard name in this post.

I don't know but I thought all the eliminations should be through a single bivalue or triple i.e. one strong link. Your (5) is using a short chain.

Nice move anyway!

Peter,

I checked Sudopedia and you are correct; a wxyz -wing requires bivalues or triples. So I guess I am stuck calling it a Kraken cell.

I get into more trouble with names!!!!
